Teaching / Lectures

Dr. Hillenbrand has been delivering educational lectures since 1969, and has been on medical school faculties since 1972. He has received many awards for excellence in teaching; some of these are listed in his curriculum vitae. He currently holds the faculty rank of Clinical Professor in the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at the Chicago Medical School, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, North Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Hillenbrand has lectured extensively on many topics of interest in Psychiatry to professional audiences for certified continuing education needs, for board review purposes, for psychiatric and medical society continuing education conferences, and the like. Such topics include:

      • Clinical diagnosis and treatment
      • Selected topics in psychopharmacology
      • Biological background of psychiatric diagnoses
      • Neurologic, physiologic, biochemical, endocrine, and immune aspects of psychiatric disorders
      • Medical illnesses simulating psychiatric disorders
      • Sleep disorders

Dr. Hillenbrand addresses lay audiences for educational purposes including such groups as NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness), the various Depressive-Manic-Depressive associations, NOW (National Organization for Women), church groups, prayer groups, high school education, and support groups.
